In a place where the only traffic jam is caused by dairy cows crossing the road at milking time, you’ll truly feel like you’ve entered another world. Find entrances to the extraordinary Lamington National Park found by simply following the road. Step into another world and into the hidden lives of The Lost World’s wild side. We begin just 15 minutes south of Beaudesert in the locality of Kerry. On this unforgettably beautiful drive you’ll feel yourself relax with every kilometre passed. Put your dancing shoes on and join a 75-year tradition at one of the Kerry Memorial Hall’s old-time country dances.

Tommerup’s Dairy Farmstay

Only four minutes from Kerry you’ll experience authentic farm life. Tommerup’s Dairy Farm is a sixth generation working farm. Wake up early and learn the process of milking the cows, explore trails, help collect eggs and feed the pigs and goats in the afternoon. The farm’s historic cottages offer comfy beds and a trip back in history. Please ensure a booking is made prior to arrival.

Strap the boots back on and head north west to Christmas Creek. Home to some diverse walks that have a story of a tragic 1937 plane crash.

As the story goes, a Stinson Airline took off from Brisbane. Many assumed it crashed in New South Wales. Except local Bernard O’Reilly who set off on a search with nothing but a gut instinct. He found two survivors and the body of Jim Westray who had tried to go for help. His body was buried by Christmas Creek.

The first part of the hike from Christmas Creek to Westray’s Grave heads along the south bank of Christmas Creek. There are some interesting creek crossings to traverse and a chance for a swim before discovering Westray’s final resting place.
